Hello Art Lovers!
Happy New Year! How was your 2022? I hope you had a great one. Looking back through my social media, I didn't realize how full my year was. Over these last 12 months, I have been busy with numerous exhibitions, interviews, awards, and a phenomenal surprise trip.
What Happened in 2022?
**MY BIG NEWS!**
I'm starting off 2023 with my art in TIMES SQUARE!
Back Story: Earlier this year I submitted to an art call through the Kessler Collection of resort hotels. The competition was to have an artwork displayed on an electronic billboard right next to the Times Square ball drop during New Year's Eve. On December 13, I was notified that I was one of 9 finalists (out of over 5000 entries) to receive an all expenses paid trip to Savannah, GA to meet with Mr. Kessler and the other artists. It was an INCREDIBLE experience! Each of us were interviewed by Mr. Kessler, attended a cocktail party and gala dinner, and were notified that we were all having our art displayed on New Year's Eve. I made 8 new artist and a bunch of Kessler Collection friends. What an amazing moment in my career! Besides all this news, my paintings are now represented by the Kessler Collection. On A Personal Side:
I ran half marathons #31-#33. My goal is to reach 6 marathons (done) and 35 halves (will be done in Feb. '23) and then stick to walking, cycling, and strength training. Exercise is my therapy and I hope to make 2023 my year to get to goal weight and tone up this 53 year old body.
A Final Year-End Note from Shan: I want to thank my collectors, galleries, media connections, followers, and fellow artists for your kind words and encouragement you have shown me in my almost 8 years as a professional artist. I truly love my job as a realist vehicle artist, and learn with each piece I create. I thank you all and wish you a magnificent 2023 filled with love, laughter, and beautiful art. All the best, Shan Austin, Texas, USA
