This surprise commission was such a joy to create. Although the owner no longer possessed this vehicle, it held a special place in his heart. His parents wanted to give him a reminder of his beloved BMW for his birthday. The reference photo that we chose shows the vehicle parked in front of his childhood home. It was a perfect setting to create this special piece.

In my paintings, I use a handful of colors and then mix them to create a visual cohesiveness. This painting used: Zinc/Titanium/Unbleached White, Paynes Grey, Cobalt Blue, Yellow Oxide/Naples Yellow, Burnt Sienna/Burnt Umber, Alizarin/Cadmium Deep and Medium/Napthol Red Light, Dioxazine Purple, and Chromium Oxide/Hooker’s Green.
