1956 Porsche 356A Carrera

Shan-and-Red-MG-MGA.jpg

I saw this lovely lady during the annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance during March 2016. I’ve always loved the style of the Porsche 356 and ample curves of her fenders. Those curves wordlessly tell you that she hugs anything winding roads throw at her. I adored how the clouds reflected abstractly onto her cherry red hood, and knew that I needed to capture her on canvas.

NOTE: This painting (and feature artist article) were featured on the Fall 2016 Horizons Texas Porsche Club Magazine. It was an honor to have my work shared with my fellow Porsche enthusiasts.

Colors used: Alizarin/Cadmium Medium & Light/Naphthol light & crimson reds, Titanium White, Unbleached Titanium, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Gold, Raw & Burnt Umber, Primary/Prussian Blue, Dioxazine Purple, Payne’s Gray, and Hooker’s Green.
